Latest News:
Some sad news has arisen in the past week, that a dearly beloved friend to Canadian Speedway Mr. Mike Tams has been admitted to
St. Josephs Hospital in Toronto
after suffering a stroke.
Mike was born in Winnipeg in 1919. In England he rode for Eastbourne (1947), Newcastle (1950), Southampton (1952-53) and Ringwood in 1955.
He was also active in the 1940s and again from 1954 in managing and promoting in the Irish Republic (Santry and Chapelizoid) and also in the 1940s in Northern Ireland at Belfast (along with Wally Lloyd).
Mike was involved in the development of Canadian speedway from 1959 and raced until well into his 60s, retiring sometime in the early 1980s.
He is a well-loved figure in Canadian speedway. Our prayers are with him for a recovery from the stroke that has afflicted him.
We will update you with any further information as is recieved! _______________________________
